2/12/2026:  CNC shop have over 2000 pieces they are finishing up.  A short run should return from Black Nitride this weekend.  We are going as fast as we can and thank you all for your patience.  The rate that these sale out is mind blowing and more fixtures was required to bump up production.

The Nitro Fin 2.1 is the best slide stop thumb rest available.

It is machined from a single piece of 17-4 stainless steel and is available in machined polished or black nitride.

 

The Nitro Fin pin size is 0.1990 +0.0005 / -0.0015. In most applications, if your pin size matches, all you need to do is slide it in and you’re ready to run a thumb rest on your pistol.

 

With every custom-built gun, a proper mock-up is recommended. We demonstrate this in the instructional videos shown below.

 

Version 2.1 Highlights

 

THUMBREST PAD REDESIGN

The pad is now 0.150 wider. This update came from feedback from USPSA Open shooters using wide scope mounts. We also flattened the pad based on years of shooter feedback. Additionally, we undercut and reduced the rear section of the pad to eliminate discomfort when shooting weak-handed.

 

PIN QUALITY OVERHAUL

The new pin features no taper and tighter tolerances. It is also slightly longer to aid in removal and to accommodate wider frames.

 

SLIDE TAB CALIBRATION

We increased the tab height and changed its shape to prevent contact with Grams followers. A smooth radius was also added to aid installation. The tab may sit slightly high depending on your slide window, so be sure to check this during mock-up.

 

LOWER THUMB SHIELD UPDATE

Some users reported contacting the shield while racking the slide. This area has been refined to improve clearance.

 

REAR DETENT BLOCK

This feature has been widely copied. We measured and averaged multiple frame dimensions and designed a recessed block to capture the slide stop plunger.

Nitro Fin is awesome!

Installed this on my Bul SASII Tac 5" for USPSA competition. This fit absolutely perfect on my gun without any modification or fitment. Ran a few stages with it the next day and it ran without a single malfunction. Fit and finish is perfect and feels extremely natural and comfortable in my grip. Just don't forget about your holster fitment which will probably need to be replaced unless you use a race holster like in my case.

Nitro Fin

Installed the Nitro Fin in a Miltary Arms Corp 2011 DS which is a Turkish clone of the Staccato XL. Fit perfectly, the gun functioned flawlessly at the range. Expensive, but a quality product, worth it!
