8/27/2024:  What a year... the CNC shop is really killing it these days.. these Nitro Fins are so consistent with more and more reports of just dropping in.  We do our best to chase the industries top gun builders.  Stock is strong with BSPS, Speed Shooters and MPA getting a majority of the parts.  If out of stock, don't worry, I'm on it.

PLEASE READ: Check your current slide lock for pin size.  Use caution test fitting it before test firing at the range.  The Nitro Fin by design fits close inside the slide lock relief of the frame, some gun smith work may be required.

Slide lock does lock the slide back manually, but does not automatically on the last round. (Top Level Gunsmith Feature)

Machined out of one solid piece of 17-4 stainless.  In most applications if your pin size matches....all you have to do

is slide your old slide stop out, slide this one in, and you have a thumbrest on your Limited or Open USPSA gun.  With every slide stop, do take your time and do a proper slide off mock up.

*Works with any 1911, 1911 Double Stack or 2011 variants (STI Stucatto SV Prodigy Akai PT etc).  With every custom made gun a good mock up is needed and shown below in our instructional videos.

*The 1911 Stealth Arms Platypus will need the inner Nitro Fin tab removed to clear the new Glock magazine follower location.  Removing the tab allows the Nitro Fin to be pulled out without alignment of the slide half moon.  I have many reports of this not being an issue.. early on.  But as we have more in the wild it sounds like a loose build can have an even looser thumbrest that can fall out shooting one handed.  To prevent this from happening we are recommending going back to an old modification of drilling a detent divot into the back face of the nitro fin... aligned with the safety detent plunger.  When we get our hands on a Platypus a Dirty Workbench video will be made to show all the steps.

Listed below are the main key changes.

-THUMB REST PAD REDESIGN:  It's 0.150 WIDER, This came from the USPSA Open shooters mainly.. They needed it wider to compensate for the scope mount. We understand everyone has a different thumb and it's curved, so a flatter pad angle increased the surface area.  We undercut and reduced the rear section of the pad to eliminate any discomfort shooting weak handed.

-PIN QUALITY OVERHAUL:  We changed our methods of machining the pins.  This resulted in a no taper, tighter toleranced pin. Now 0.1985 with a 0.001 tolerance. Longer pin to aid in removal and for wider frames.

-SLIDE TAB CALIBRATION:  We increased the height and changed it's shape to not contact Grams followers.  Also put a nice radius on that tab to aid in installation.

-LOWER THUMB SHIELD:  Some reported hitting the shield when racking the slide.  We lowered it to the min height.

-REAR DETENT BLOCK:  We averaged all the frames we could measure and made a recessed block to capture your slide stop plunger.  Ever experienced the slide locking back while shooting weak hand?  Kiss that problem good bye.

-Availble in machined polished or black nitride coating.
