10/1/2023: This product is designed to split into two pieces if extra force is applied. If you get your grips and aggressively sqeeze them before installing them, they have a good chance of splitting, but will still be usable as a two piece design.

Grip
Idea is great, as is space for lead weights. But the grip is way abrasive, and I use a cheeley aggressive grip on my 2011. Fits fine.

1911 Bite Grips
These grips are really good, a couple tweaks could make them great. Texture, size and fitment are excellent but the material is very brittle and the thumb relief for the mag catch is waaaay too large, too much space and not enough grip there. Those are the only cons for me.

I don’t like change. I mean, I shoot a 1911 after all. I love all of SSI’s products though, so I had to try these. I’m so glad I did. These grips live up to their name. The Bite pattern is aggressive, but the material is remarkably comfortable. The added surface area made it a breeze to lock my support hand into an ideal grip. Installation was simple with the aid of the video and they accepted my favorite Techwell without adjustment. The Bite grips are lighter than my old G10 grips, so I ordered the suggested tungsten weight inserts, which easily balanced my pistol to my preference. Outstanding system. If you are seeking an advantage over recoil, take a Bite out of these. Highly recommend.
