This grip weight is fully CNC machined out of Tungsten.  The preinstalled Nylon GRIP PLUG keeps it all togeather and cleans up the reload path into the magwell.  This weight is the heaviest ever made and will put the weight where it needs to be, in the grip of your hand.  If you are looking to get that competitive edge to better control recoil and have a functional GRIP PLUG then here is your solution.  Dot shooters reports: the dot stays in the window.

CUSTOMERS WITH MAGWELLS:  We stopped the tungsten at the fastener hole and the feedback we have from customers is... I shot it without my magwell and it felt so good!!!  I didn't want to reduce weight so I just flat sanded the magwell mounting plug to just touch the SSI Tungsten slug.  So MANY customers are modifying the magwell mounting plug to work and are very happy.

USPSA Maximum allowable weight Production Division is 59 oz with mag inserted
USPSA Maximum allowable weight Carry Optics Division is 59 oz with  mag inserted.

...  As we have worked through suppliers of material and local CNC shops,  The slug that you get may look different than pictured and could weigh more than advertised.  Fit and function is not a problem.

Fantastic!

As a born and raised 1911 shooter I just like the feel of a heavier pistol. As I got older and my eyesight, started to deteriorate, I switch to Glocks and red dots shooting Carry Optics in USPSA. Glocks have also been my EDC for the last eight years. It’s amazing how much 4.7 ounces changes the feel of a full size Glock. The best part about it for me personally is the weight is in the grip and not out front like a heavy guide rod. So with a firm grip and help with that extra weight, the red dot really really tamed down from bouncing around as much. I have two of the full-size grip weights. One in a G 45 the other and a G 47 which I do sometimes carry appendix instead of my G19. I will be putting one in my EDC G19 when they become available. Also the customer service from Shooting Sports Innovation is great as well! The ear on the nylon plug that comes with the tungsten weight had broken during shipping. I called them up and had a brand new one in the mail just days later.

Definitely reduces recoil.

I'm giving 5 stars because this product does exactly what it says it does, namely it adds weight to the frame. I installed it on a G17L gen 5. Installation was quick and easy. The slug fits snugly, but it does fit; no damage to the frame. I've only fired 100 rounds with the slug, but haven't had any issues thus far. Definitely reduces recoil. I used to run a brass plug from a well known store that specializes in Glock parts (you know the one I'm talking about). I had zero issues with that other brass plug (and would definitely recommend the brass plug if someone wanted just a little extra weight). But I wanted to try something even heavier for the G17L. And I can say that the SSI slug is noticeably heavier and reduces recoil much better because of it.
